Despite the love and good intentions of the caregiver, caring for a family member who is going through major life difficulties can get trapped in a tug of war consumed by disagreements and conflicts. Over time, the caregiver may become helpless and experience burnout, and the family member that needs help may lose the primary base for support and guidance.
The aim of this workshop is to help parents and caregivers learn effective means to work through the emotions that arise from the process of caring. In doing so, the caregivers can find ways to reconnect the strained relationship, and invigorate the care.
This workshop provides an intensive, hands-on experiential learning opportunities for the participants. The goals of the workshop will focus on:
- Working through caregiver emotional pressure and care-giving style
- Being effective with emotions – Attending, Attuning, and Responding
- Taking the lead in reconnecting and repairing the strained relationship
- Steps in being an emotionally in-tune, confident caregiver
