10th Anniversary Workshop Series on Trauma
Emotion Focused Therapy for Trauma (EFTT) is an integrative therapeutic model that extends and tailors the general theory of emotion focused therapy (EFT) to the area of interpersonal trauma. This model has more than twenty years of research involving clinical trials, observation and analysis of therapy sessions, as well as extensive clinical experience which demonstrates its effectiveness for healing complex trauma. This 2-day workshop introduces participants to the nature of complex trauma, EFTT theory and research, and the fundamentals of the EFTT treatment model.
Participants will learn:
- The nature of complex trauma and the central role of emotional processes in disturbance
- The EFTT treatment model and how therapy addresses central features of disturbance
- Intervention guidelines for the phases of therapy and corresponding therapeutic tasks, including cultivating an empathic therapeutic alliance; promoting emotion regulation; reducing fear, avoidance, and shame; accessing anger and sadness
- Interventions to help clients safely confront trauma feelings and memories (with and without chair-work) and construct more adaptive meaning regarding self, others, and traumatic events
There is limited number of spaces available for this workshop so we encourage you to register early and avoid being disappointed.
